Crochet Bunny Lovey for Baby
I've already shown you the mushroom rattles, bunny rattle, and bear rattle I crocheted for Baobao, and with this next make, there's definitely a theme emerging. It's a snuggly bunny lovey. We might just end up with a whole woodland themed nursery soon!
The Pattern
I used a free Crochet Snuggle Bunny Baby Lovey pattern from Sewrella. It's basically a really big granny square with a bunny head sewn on in the middle.
I found the pattern a bit difficult to read, especially for the bunny head. I had to keep my wits about me for this one, and actually use stitch markers, instead of crocheting mindlessly like I usually do! I embroidered the eyes instead of using safety eyes, and changed their position to fit my usual amigurumi style.
The Yarn
I chose light brown and white yarn to match the rattles I already had. I also wanted to use up some yarn I had in my stash, instead of buying more. The white is Knit Picks Brava Bulky, and the brown chenille yarn is Bernat Pipsqueak (affiliate link) in Chocolate colour.
Both yarns are nice to work with, and I use them a lot for amigurumi, but they're not as soft as I would've liked for a baby blanket. Next time I'll try making another security blanket with softer yarn, because this snuggle bunny could be snugglier!
