How cute are these little mushroom rattles? I think they're the most whimsical thing I've made for Baobao so far!
When I saw this Mushroom Rattle amigurumi pattern from Lilleliis, I knew I had to try it. The design is full of cute little details, like a ruffled collar around the stalk, textured stitches underneath the mushroom cap, shell stitches and contrast colour stitching along the edge of the cap, and embroidered grass on the base.
I dug around in my stash for DK weight yarn, and found some leftover bits of merino wool hiding in a corner. For white, I used Peter Pan Merino Baby DK (affiliate link). The pink and brown are Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK. And for the leaves and grass, I used Knit Picks City Tweed in Toad colour.
Although this is an intermediate level pattern, the instructions are detailed and clear, with lots of step-by-step photos, so I found the mushrooms easy and fun to make.
With a stalk that's the perfect size for tiny hands, this has quickly become one of Baobao's favourite toys!
