Watermelon Slice Mini Crochet Pattern

These mini watermelon slices are so quick and easy to make. You’ll start with a green oval for the base, then use decreases to make the triangle shape. Finish off by sewing on some black seeds and a cute little face.

These mini amigurumi watermelons make cute little gifts or decorations, and you can sew a keychain on top to make them functional too!

Difficulty: Easy

Size:
Using fingering weight yarn and a 1.5 mm crochet hook, your watermelon will be about 3 cm (1.2 in) wide. However, exact gauge isn't important, and you can easily adjust the size by using thicker or thinner yarn.

You will need:
• Fingering weight yarn in green, white, pink, and black
• 4 mm round black beads for eyes
• Black sewing thread
• Toy stuffing
• 1.5 mm crochet hook
• Sewing needle
• Yarn needle

ch - chain

sc - single crochet
dec - decrease (single crochet 2 together)
BLO - back loop only

Watermelon Slice Pattern

Work in the round. Using green yarn, ch 11.

R1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 8 sts, 3 sc in final ch. Rotate your work so you can crochet back down the bottom of the starting chain. Sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in same space as the very first sc. [22 sts]

R2: 3 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts, 3 sc in next st, sc in next st, 3 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts, 3 sc in next st, sc in next st. [30 sts]

Change to white yarn.

R3: Working through BLO, sc in each st around. [30 sts]

R4: (Sc in next 13 sts, dec) twice. [28 sts]

Change to pink yarn.

R5: (Sc in next 6 sts, dec, sc in next 6 sts) twice. [26 sts]

R6: (Sc in next 11 sts, dec) twice. [24 sts]

R7: (Sc in next 5 sts, dec, sc in next 5 sts) twice. [22 sts]

R8: (Sc in next 9 sts, dec) twice. [20 sts]

R9: (Sc in next 4 sts, dec, sc in next 4 sts) twice. [18 sts]

R10: (Sc in next 7 sts, dec) twice. [16 sts]

R11: (Sc in next 3 sts, dec, sc in next 3 sts) twice. [14 sts]

R12: (Sc in next 5 sts, dec) twice. [12 sts]

Lightly stuff the watermelon slice.

R13: (Sc in next 2 sts, dec, sc in next 2 sts) twice. [10 sts]

R14: (Sc in next 3 sts, dec) twice. [8 sts]

Cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing, and finish off. Sew the hole closed

Use black yarn to embroider a few small seeds on your watermelon slice.

Sew the eye beads onto the white part of the slice, about 6 stitches apart. Embroider a tiny mouth between the eyes.

Your little watermelon slice is complete!
